Saucony, the multi-awarded running shoe brand worn by today’s elite runners, recently hit the Visayan shores with the introduction of its Geometry of Strong technology, a groundbreaking advancement for runners everywhere, at the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines in Cebu. Today, Team Herbalife has top age groupers and up & coming triathletes among its ranks. Geometry of Strong
Looking into every detail to help runners run more efficiently, Saucony launched the Geometry of Strong series, a completely redesigned heel-to-toe offset of 8mm - 33% lower than the average running shoe of 12mm – on three of the brand's best-selling award winning models: the Guide, Hurricane and Triumph. This change in geometry allows runners to adjust their stride and land on their midfoot offering greater control, alignment and suspension, allowing for a more powerful stride. This change also allows the shoe to be even more lightweight without comprising cushioning and stability.

Guide 6 – Stability in Every Move
The Guide is Saucony’s flagship shoe and winner of Runner's World International's coveted Best Shoe of the Year award.  The Guide 6 features a fit and ride designed to meet the needs of runners seeking stability in an everyday training shoe.   It has a midfoot saddle that promotes a snug and secure fit while the Comfort Lite sockliner embedded in the shoe supports the arch and lessens forefoot pressure for a more comfortable run. Moreover, the triangular lug outsole design and added flex groove increase forefoot flexibility for a smoother ride.

Hurricane 15 – Great Fit and Feel
Awarded Best Update by Runner’s World, the Hurricane is Saucony's full featured premium guidance shoe. The Hurricane 15 blends the features of a traditional stability shoe with the feel of a flexible, lightweight trainer the Hurricane is known for. The upper is upgraded with Support Frame, a heel locking technology that provides a secure, stable fit. On the other hand, the PowerGrid™ midsole technology offers superior cushioning and the 8mm offset encourages a lower-impact ride.

Triumph 10 – Form and Function
The Triumph 10 is highly recommended for runners who are looking for a shoe that strikes the perfect balance in both form and function. This shoe features deeper flex groove in the forefoot for added flexibility, while its breathable open mesh and a supportive upper provide comfort in every stride. It also has the PowerGrid™ midsole technology for a plush ride for the runner seeking a cushioned feel.  Another plus for the Triumph 10 is its redesigned decoupled heel crash pad that gives way for smoother landing and more efficient transition.

*****************

I was so excited to be invited to the media launch of this highly-anticipated sports event which was held at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. It's one of the biggest launches I've been to. I'm no triathlete, but it was a similar environment feel (yet in a more elite sort of way). When I saw the finisher medal, I got this sudden urge of becoming an Ironman someday.

Having fun with blogger friends at the Cobra Energy Drink photobooth
Someday.
