The Men's Health URBANATHLON is a one-of-a-kind competition that combines traditional road race elements with rigorous obstacles and puts them against a backdrop of the Philippine urban setting.
It is the international signature event of Men's Health.
Post-race, the excitement continues at the Men's Health URBANATHLON Festival, with DJ sets, food and drink, and tons of stuff from sponsors to demo, sample and take home.
The 2013 URBANATHLON is going to be bigger, tougher and more demanding.

si kamote runner ang nauna! hehe!Delete
registered na - 1st sa ROX but me kulang - wala pa yong singlet...puro large pa sia...ReplyDelete
hopefully they'd allow you to swap to the smaller sizes once stocks are available :)Delete
Good day Sir! Thanks for this information. I'm looking for this. Curios lang. Saan niyo po nakuha yung mga details? Sa PF po kasi ala pa as of now maging sa FB page ng Men's health? :DReplyDelete
hi Zash Clive! got the info from the organizers themselves. attended the media launch last July 31 and we were provided the materials for us to blog. they already have some of the materials posted in https://www.facebook.com/menshealthphilippines FB page.Delete
thanks for the visit! :)
hi, just wanna ask... is this race exclusive for male participants only? or pde rin for females? i've seen pictures na pde ung mga females ^_^ lastly, are the obstacles that tough for females? i really wanted to join pero just need some advise from you.. thank you! ^_^ReplyDelete
the race is open for both male and female participants. :) yep, kayang-kaya naman ng girls ung obstacles. from my experience last year, saw marshals assisting women sa mejo tough obstacles. :)Delete
thank you!!! i'll be joining this event ^_^ excited na ako!!!Delete
see you there! this will be fun! :)Delete
ReplyDelete
just asking thank you sir.
from my experience last year it was less than 21 kilometers, probably by around 500m. not sure if the organizers will change it this year.Delete
hello there! will post as soon as we get the info from the organizers. or do like Men's Health Philippines FB page as they would most probably publish it first there. :)Delete
hi deemenrunner! is there any finisher's shirt and medal for 5K & 10K category? thanks alot! -bryanReplyDelete
hello bryan! from what has been shared, there would be finisher's shirt and medals for 5k and 10k. the only exclusive post-race freebie is the cap for 21k finishers.Delete
I've heard really comments about people opting to skip the obstacles due to long wait line. Since you've ran the urbanathlon before do you have any comments on the matter? i.e. any tips in avoiding the lines? or is waiting in line not such a bad thing?
From what I see the two scarier obstacles is the wall climb and the rope climb. Do you think you can share any tips in conquering them? :)
Yeah, saw some runners just skipping obstacles. Since there's a lot of participants, the marshals weren't able to monitor everyone or impose penalties on those runners.Delete
As for me, since I was after the experience rather than getting a good finish time, I didn't mind falling in line. It was fun to try all obstacles.
Wall climb is ok, there are marshals helping push participants up the wall so you need not worry. For the rope climb (tower), this is something new this year. :)
:)ReplyDelete
as far as i know, yes. 10k and 21k runner will both go through the same set of obstacles. 5k runners have less obstacle to go through, but I am not aware what specific obstacles 5k runners will skip.Delete
thank you nga pala...ako yung nasa scaffolding maze....(Reydor)
nice one Reydor! MH model na!Delete
Thanks for the info!ReplyDelete
One good advise i could give is to leave the pack right after the gunstart, this is to avoid long queues for the first series of obstacles.
May i know as well, if the organizer is the same as last year?
Yes, same organizers. Tougher obstacles. :)Delete
I think kasabay po sya ng candy rushReplyDelete
hindi kea magkabanggaan sa route?
hello Juan! the Candy Rush race route utilizes Roxas Boulevard. MHU route utilizes Macapagal Blvd. there should be no conflicts. confirmed this as well with the Race Director Coach Joar. :)Delete
Hi! thanks for this info, sir.ReplyDelete
It will be my first time to join Urbanathlon and I dont think I can do all the obstacles...
I heard may penalty for skipping. Is it true? what would it be this year?
Thanks in advance!
From the media launch, they have not yet decided what the penalty will be for skipping the obstacles - one option they are looking at is for runners to do burpees. hehe! but this is something still being finalized by the organizing team.Delete
great on the details deemenrunner!ReplyDelete
just wanna ask, if u happen to know, will there be a place/station where we can keep some of our belongings during the event?
there will be baggage counters, as usual on race events. :)
ano yung design ng finisher shirt, kasi po last year kulay yellow, ngayon po kaya?ReplyDelete
the organizers haven't released the design yet. will post it here as soon as it is available. :)Delete
hi deem, ask k lng if alam mo yung updates regarding sa reg. at alabang golds gym. kung meron pa. and last availblity of singlets.ReplyDelete
hello ponci! thanks for the visit!Delete
unfortunately, as a blogger, we are no longer informed on specifics like singlet availability. best to contact the gold's gym branch where you are planning to register to get the information you need. :)
hello dragon7apple! 21k and 10k have the same set of obstacles. if you're just after experiencing all the obstacles, ok na ung 10k. :)Delete
Yung mga obstacle difficulty po ba for different categories (5,10,21km) are the same?ReplyDelete
10km and 21km have the same set of obstacles. the 5km category babawasan nila ng ilang obstacles. :)Delete
How about the "The Tower", bababaan po ba ang height? :))Delete
from what has been shared to us, same station lang sya na dadaanan ng lahat ng categories. so same height lang. basta rest assured may mga marshals naman dun to take care of everyone.Delete
Sir yung Racekit including the Singlet and Buff, makukuha na ba agad upon onsite registration or sa actual day ng race pa? Thanks!ReplyDelete
yep you'll get them all upon registration, of course singlet size based on availability as usual. :)Delete
Are the onsite registration accepts major credit cards like Run United Organizers did? I'm planning to register later to ROX BGC. Thank you deemenrunner! Your blog is very informative and you're very approachable and polite to your visitors! :DReplyDelete
hello! from what i know, registration is on cash basis only.Delete
thanks for those kind words! God bless!
ReplyDelete
thank you sir.
Delete
sir wala pa rin kameng natatanggap na images para dun. rest assured, I will post them here pag available na. try ko rin ask sa contact namin from summitmedia. :)
Delete
Bro kaya kaya to ng normal person?ReplyDelete
haha natawa na naman ako sa normal person. oo naman kayang-kaya yan basta syempre train both upper and lower body. may marshals din naman to assist all participants. :)Delete
Sir would you know what time is the gun start for 21k & 10k? Thanks!ReplyDelete
hello Jin! according to the Men's Health Philippines FB page, they are going to release this information tomorrow. :)Delete
sir ask ko lang kung what time po ang gun start ng 21k thanks.ReplyDelete
hello Juan! updated the blog post with the image of the assembly and gun times as released by Men's Health Philippines today.Delete
thanks sir! I ask one more. May i know the design of medal? Because its motivate me more to run hehe. Thanks again sir!Delete
two things: either the medal is a complete surprise to finishers, or it would be the same design as last year's kaya they didn't release the design already. :)Delete
